Saturday Music Memories – Incredible Foo Fighters!

I have always been a fan of the Foo Fighters, but never seen them live! I can’t wait until that finally happens.

My appreciate for Dave Grohl went up a notch when he made the movie “Sound City“. Check out the trailer here:

Here is a fantastic live version of their hit “All My Life“!

Have a great weekend…

Three Words To Really Think About….

  • Authenticity
  • Caring
  • Story Telling

I recently watched the Garth Brooks “Live At  The Wynn” concert and I was completely blown away – especially by his ability to tell a FANTASTIC story!

I am going to keep this short and sweet, and let you really think about those three words as you continue to spread your message.

If you want me to dig a little deeper, just let me know 🙂

Saturday Music Memories – Garth & Billy!

I had the distinct pleasure of seeing Garth Brooks play live in the mid 1990’s – and I was blown away! He is on a shortlist of artists that I would pay anything to see live again.

His passion for his music, his fans, and life in general is contagious!

My wife and I tried to see him in Las Vegas over the past few months, but it did just not work out.

The next best thing was on TV last night. He aired a two-hour concert from his recent stint at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

Here is a live cut of “Shameless” with Billy Joel live at the historic Shea Stadium in New York!

Keep on enjoying your weekend…

Saturday Music Memories – Fun “Stripped Down”

There are certain bands that capture my attention right away, and Fun was one of them.

I still can’t put my finger on it why I love them, I just do. Maybe it is the passion for their craft during live performances, or maybe it is just the great music.

I stumbled across this on YouTube last weekend and had to share.

Here is an incredible version of their hit “Carry On” stripped down acoustically.

Saturday Music Memories – That Song In Your Head!

I have had a song stuck in my head for the past two months and played it well over 100 times (according to my iPod).

Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert do an incredible job on “We Were Us”.

Can’t wait to see Keith play live for the third time in Edmonton this January!

Have a great Saturday. Just digging out of a snow blizzard here!

Saturday Music Memories – It is Hard To Stay Mad..

When they can still rock like this 🙂

Saturday Music Memories – Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians in my online community (and Happy Weekend to everyone else)!

Enjoy the long weekend and the time you get to spend with family and friends.

Way down the list of things I am thankful for is the fantastic music that has come out of Canada over the years. Bryan Adams is close to the top of my list!

Here is an old classic “Run To You” from 1983!

Have a great weekend…

Saturday Music Memories – STP Rockin’ In the 1987 “Stang”

Stone Temple Pilots was on “constant rotation” in my cassette deck from 1991-1996 driving to university in my 1987 Mustang. I have always been captivated by the band, especially lead singer Scott Weiland.

His energy and passion on stage is well documented in the music industry, and he is one of my favourite vocalist from the last 20 years.

Instead of posting one of their classic hits, here is a fantastic acoustic live cut of a song off their first cd – “Crackerman”.

Enjoy!

Saturday Music Memories – Incredible Young Drummer!

When I first heard Casey Cooper drum, I was blown away! I love the enthusiasm and passion for his craft. His talent is second to none at the young age of 21.

In this video, he covers Nirvana’s “In Bloom”.

Saturday Music Memories – “What A Nice Day”

I just got Keith Urban tickets yesterday for a January 2014 show in Edmonton! I thought it would be appropriate to share this blog post again!

Keith Urban is one of my favourite artists. I have had the extreme pleasure of seeing him play live twice. I think Alicia Keys is one of the greatest talents in the music industry today. The collaborated at Live Earth in July 2007 for a fantastic rendition of “Gimme Shelter” by the Rolling Stones.

Have a great weekend everyone!
