Saturday Music Memories – Road Trippin’
Some of you may not realize that “Life Is A Highway” was not originally written by Rascal Flatts (It was part of the movie “Cars”!)
It was actually a mega hit in the early 1990’s by Canadian Music legend Tom Cochrane.
We have gone from winter straight to summer in Western Canada and are just loving it.
Check out one of the best songs that I have ever heard for hitting the highway and having a road trip!
Enjoy your Saturday….
Saturday Music Memories – Are You “Out Of Touch?”
Hop in the time machine with me today and enjoy this classic track!
My family was travelling through eastern Canada, specifically Ontario in the summer of 1985, and this track was on “constant rotation” on my Sony Walkman! I remember the beauty of the Canadian Shield, incredible lakes, and awesome camping in our tent trailer.
I was really looking forward to catching up with my Aunt and Uncle in the capital of Canada – Ottawa, Ontario.
Take a few minutes to sit back, relax and enjoy “Out of Touch” by one of my favourite 80’s rock/pop bands – Hall & Oates!
Saturday Music Memories – Road Trips Home
Welcome back to Saturday Music Memories!
I warned you during the first post that my musical taste is all over the map! What better way to show you then to go from an 80’s Classic Rock band to a current country star in the second edition!
I don’t follow country music much, but I do keep tabs on everything Keith Urban does. He truly cares about his profession and fans, and leaves it all out on the stage every night he performs. I have had the pleasure of seeing him play live twice. Each time, it was for over 2 1/2 hours. I did a post recently discussing passion vs raw talent. In case you missed it, here is the link:
raw-talent-vs-passion-and-the-winner-is
Keith is one of those rare performers who has the raw talent and the passion for his “job”. He is certainly living the dream.
I live 14 hours by car from my home town, and my family has done that drive with me 10 times in the last 11 years. Since this song came out, we play it multiple times on each trip! Every time I hear it, I think of all the fun we have had (and will have again in the future) on the highways of the beautiful Western Canadian Prairies.
Have A Laugh Fridays – Awesome Family Car Sing-A-Long
My “Passion vs. Raw Talent” post (featuring my Van Halen concert review) early this week was very well received. So I thought, what the heck, let’s keep the momentum going with another music themed post.
I hope you enjoy this family road trip moment as much as I did. Have a great weekend!
