Have A Laugh Fridays – My Ice Bucket Challenge Vid!
Happy Friday Everyone!
Last night I completed the Ice Bucket Challenge! It was launched to raise money for ALS – Lou Gehrig’s Disease. One of my family member’s challenged my son and I, and we happily obliged.
This is a very serious disease and I challenge you all to take part, and invite others to participate as well to bring more exposure to the cause.
Why is this under my Have A Laugh Fridays? Check out my video, and please share with others.
Have a great weekend.
Tim

There’s something I don’t get about the ALS Challenge. It’s great that it’s raising awareness but the very nature of the challenge is problematic to me. You either donate $100 or pour a bucket of ice water over your head. So, this means all those videos everyone is watching, all those people who are laughing and shivering, are examples of people NOT donating to a cause.
Yeah, I know many do both–dump the ice water and donate, too–but the basic premise is that if you pull the stunt, you get out of paying. It feels like we’re all celebrating people who are weaseling out of giving to those in need. Plus, it seems the line between “raising awareness” and “free positive publicity for famous personalities” is very fine. These are people who spend $100 on one dinner out; you’d think they would cough up a little more than their pocket change.
Start a donation war where the celebs try to out-donate each other in an attempt NOT to have a bucket of ice water dumped on them at a scheduled end date. THAT would be something worth watching.
I’ve been wanting to say that for days, thanks for the opportunity.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. It seems like the response has been overwhelming with many people doing both! I believe over $70 million has been raised to for the fundraising campaign this year 🙂 Thanks again for stopping by!
Good for you Tim!
