Cold Calling – Will Smith Style!

I love Will Smith, and the movie Pursuit of Happyness. I have watched a lot of it online, but never rented it! I am long overdue to do so.

I watch this clip at least once a month, and wanted to share it with you today.

There is an art to cold calling, you just need to embrace it!

About Tim Mushey

Dynamic and energized sales rep, mentor and leader since 1999. This blog will be about sales, social networking, personal branding, leadership, music and having some laughs! Don’t be surprised if I mix it up on occasion, and talk about something totally different! I thrive on being part of successful, forward thinking teams. I am ready to go from the moment my feet hit the floor each morning, with the expectation that new adventures will be coming my way. It is rare that there isn't a smile on my face, as I take it all in, and have some fun along the way!

  1. Great stuff. You know, I have not seen this movie, but I’ll certainly go get it now. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Tim
Thank you for sharing this, I too have not watched this movie, but think I will rent it when I get a chance. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

  3. Reblogged this on michaelsrickert.com and commented:
This is a blog post from Tim Mushey. The scene fits right in line with what I wrote about in my new eBook. In order to “Tackle Your Sales Territory,” you need to eliminate as many wasted minutes in your day as possible. If you can squeeze more time out of your day, you might just hit a great sales call at 6 pm like in this scene!

  4. Notice the strategy he undertook. He skipped the mundane ineffectual process of going down the list. He analyzed the list and targeted the person on the list that had decision making power.

  5. Tim, rigth now I’m not sure how I got to this site, But I sure am glad I did. I need to learn how to do some cold calling for an up and coming company. I’m pretty good in person but this phone thing has fear and procrastanation all over it. I will read more of your blogs and or if you could point me in the right direction I would be very gratiful. I have to try and make money on the internet after being disabled from being a victum of a violent crime I volunteerde for, that’s whole other story.

    • Hey Craig! Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I am running out for the afternoon shortly, but will compile a list of the best cold calling blogs/people that I follow in the next day or two.

With that being said, there are also strategies that reduce the amount of time that you need to actually cold call, and I will turn you on to those resources as well. Shoot me the best email to reach out to you at:

      TimMushey@gmail.com

I certainly speak to my experiences about cold calling, but the posts directly about it on my site are quite infrequent!
